Dr. Vrushali Chavan was born and raised in Mumbai, India. She graduated from Bombay Veterinary College in 2006 and began her career as a junior veterinarian. In 2007, Dr. Chavan moved to the United States to further her education and received a Master’s degree in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences from Virginia Tech. She worked as a research associate at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC for 6 years, during which time she published several peer-reviewed papers. Dr. Chavan's love and passion for animal welfare continued when she moved to Upstate New York in 2018 with her husband, Mathew, and her cockapoo, Zoey. She worked hard to pass the ECFVG certification in 2022 in order to obtain her Veterinary license.

Dr. Chavan enjoys hiking, biking, and spending time outside with Mathew, Zoey and her daughter. She is also a plant lover, and enjoys gardening, and birding. With a deep commitment to improving the lives of animals, Dr. Chavan is determined to make valuable contributions to the field of veterinary medicine, and her compassion for animals is evident both in her personal and professional life.
